FCMA Committees

FCMA runs on a committee structure. All committee chairs report to the board on a monthly basis.

Committees include:

Community Relations - This committee is the umbrella of the association and responsible for all programs, community participation, annual employee recognition banquet, manufacturing awards, networking events for members and special events such as the golf outing and the holiday social.

Environmental, Health & Safety - This committee is proactive in identifying environmental, health and safety issues that have an impact on manufacturers; emphasis is placed on legislative and regulatory issues, forming partnerships with regulators and environmental organizations, with an emphasis on pollution prevention and conservation.

Government Relations - This committee promotes and monitors local and state legislative issues affecting manufacturers, maintains a continuing dialogue with elected officials, and is active in cooperative efforts with other state and national organizations. The committee measures the economic impact of manufacturing in the region, develops strategic plans to enhance manufacturing's role, creates an awareness of international trade opportunities, and makes recommendations on major regional economic issues.

Workforce Development - Join in for roundtable discussions on issues relating to HR.  This committee focuses the attention of Human Resources personnel on common issues facing manufacturers.  It is responsible for conducting the annual wage and benefit survey.  It is also responsible for developing educational and training programs for members through Customized Training and continuing education for employees, and it works with local educational institutions to improve the skills level of students to better prepare them for manufacturing jobs. FCMA's Special Interest Groups (SIGs)--Maintenance and Reliability and Plant Managers--fall under this committee.

Membership Services - This committee is responsible for the recruitment and retention of members, development of services for members and employees, and assimilation of members into the organization to maximize the benefits of membership (such as new member orientations, committee assignments and site visitation).  Promotes member-to-member services.
